CURATORIAL PROJECT –Primae Noctis Art Gallery
Primae Noctis Art Gallery is delighted to present a new project, showing works among its most interesting Asian artists, from China to Philippines, from Vietnam to Singapore: He Wei (1987, China), Shi Xinning (1969, China), Kenji Sugiyama (1962, Japan), Nguyen Thai Tuan (1965, Vietnam), Ruben Pang (1990, Singapore), Zhou Tiehai (1966, China) and Jeremy Sharma (1977, Singapore).
The gallery will exhibit recent works able to convey the polysemantic language of the Asian context in relationship with powerful international influences. Inscribed within this interchange, these works defy the convention of geographically grounding an Asian artist to his/her birthplace rather than recognizing that artists are individuals and not simply products of a geographically bounded socio-political location.
